Fennel, melon and ginger green smoothie

I called this smoothie « fond de frigo », which means « bottom of the fridge ». This French idom means, basically, that you make food with whatever leftovers you can find in the fridge. In this case, a wilted half-bulb of fennel, an overripe melon and a piece of ginger that had had better days. Since if was so good, I deemed it worthy of a (lazy) blog post. Feel free to use peaches or other stone fruit instead of apples. For some weird reason, end-of-summer fruit has already arrived: Plums, apples, even pumpkin…

I will take impending holidays with my family as an opportunity to slow down, publish shorter articles here and think about substantive topics to deal with on the blog. Your suggestions are welcome! And if you’re interested in some French reads, head over the French version of this post to find out what I’ve been reading lately. It’s worth it!
